Zurichtoren (Zurich Tower), Hague

The Zurich Tower, located on Muzenstraat in The Hague near the Central Station, stands as a notable feature in the city's skyline. This office tower, completed in 1999, was designed by the Argentinian-American architect César Pelli, specifically for Zurich Financial Services.

Architecturally, the Zurich Tower is a 19-story office building with a hexagonal plan, reminiscent of the tower of the Grote Kerk Hague. One of the tower's distinctive characteristics is its slightly rounded top, which makes it easily recognizable in The Hague's skyline. Its green steel roof is particularly eye-catching to those passing by. Locally, the tower is affectionately known as "The Juicer," a nickname that stems from its bulging brick walls, adding a unique character to the building.

The design inspiration for the Zurich Tower came from the Amsterdam School of Design, as indicated by its architect, César Pelli. This influence is evident in the building's overall aesthetic and structural design, contributing to its standing as a prominent architectural landmark in The Hague.
