Croatia's capital city opens up a whole new side of the country. After spending a month there, here are my 19 favorite things to do in Zagreb, Croatia!
From Upper Town’s medieval landmarks to the bustle of modern Lower Town, Zagreb offers a different Croatia experience altogether from the coast. The capital city has so much to do that I only scratched the surface in the month that I spent there. Here are my can’t miss activities including the vibrant famous café culture (I loved Quahwa), unique museums (including the Museum of Broken Relationships and the 80s Museum, which lets you touch everything!), street art, graceful parks and cemeteries, and a few places that will make you jump out of your skin. There’s so much to do in Zagreb, and I think you’ll love it as much as I do.
I spent a month in Croatia’s capital city, and I have to tell you, narrowing this list down to 19 things to do in Zagreb took a fair amount of editing. I loved my time there. If you’re thinking that the capital of Croatia is a breezy, beachy city like Dubrovnik or Split, you’re in for a big surprise. Zagreb is far inland and isn’t even really on a river, much less an ocean. The original medieval walled city sits atop a hill, and it spreads out below into a beautiful city with large squares, big green parks, and Austro-Hungarian architecture.
