Admiring the Pretty Town of Telc, Czech Republic, Telc, Czech Republic (B)

It’s funny how often the smallest destinations can be the most impressive. That regularly seems the case with the Czech Republic, at least for me. The small town of Telč is another in a list of smaller, underrated Czech destinations. Even with one day visiting Telc in the region of southern Moravia, I was floored by how scenic the town was. Every corner seemed to reveal a new view and a new photo opportunity. Telc isn’t all style no substance either. The Czech Republic is home to so fascinating history and culture and so is Telč. Given that the historic centre of Telc is registered as a UNESCO heritage site ensures that there has to be some degree of culture to the town. That it happens to take the form of picture-perfect architecture is just a bonus. So if you’re curious, let’s get to the painfully pretty town of Telc.

There’s nowhere else you could start a visit to Telc than with the Zacharias of Hradec Square. After all, it’s very much this square that has put the town on the map. Along three sides of this oddly-shaped public square are vibrantly painted houses of Italian renaissance style. With one colourful facade after another, they form a wall of ever-changing design and create one of the prettiest old towns you’re likely to see.
