Stavanger and the Pulpit Rock

Stavanger and the Pulpit Rock, Stavanger, Norway

From Bergen we drove to Stavanger. In another post I will explain you our route and everything related to traveling by car in Norway. Today I will show you all you need to visit Stavanger and the Pulpit (Preikestolen), a marvel of nature, easily accessible.

We stayed at a farm in Ålgård. The accommodation is perfect and I totally recommendable if you go by car! We hesitated a lot about where to stay, mainly because we had planned to visit the Pulpit Rock, Stavanger and Kjeragbolten on a weekend and not at highest season so, ferries linking the Pulpit Rock with Kjeragbolten were very few. So, we needed to go by car and Ålgård is located at an intermediate point to go to all these sites (30' to Stavanger, 1h15' to the Pulpit Rock and 2 hours to the Kjeragbolten). At the end, we couldn't go to the Kjeragbolten because of the weather.

...... (follow the instructions below for accessing the rest of this article).
