When we told people that we would travel to Morocco most of them said the same thing “are you sure that’s a good idea?” Two blonde women traveling by themselves seemed to be dangerous. And maybe we were a little delusional. But honestly, it was cheap and we really wanted to see some place new, a not european culture and I also wanted to see for myself if all those stereotypes you often hear about african countries are true. So was it a good idea?

So, we flew (again) from Weeze Düsseldorf (which is really not Düsseldorf. Idk who came up with this name but ok) to Fez, Morocco from Wednesday to Sunday for 107€. Totally fair tbh. The flight is around 3 and 1/2 hours, a little longer than I thought it would be. Also we started off with the MOST rude woman sitting in front of me, so that was looovely. Anyway, when we arrived our hotel transfer picked us up, which I booked beforehand. It was 20€ or 200 Moroccan Dirham and totally worth it. The drive to the hotel was around 30 minutes and when we left the airport to go to the parking area, there were literally 30 men offering a ride to tourists. I really didn’t want to take that chance because it seemed very chaotic and would have probably been more expensive so I do recommend booking a transfer directly with your hotel.
