What to see in Luang Prabang? I can begin to answer that it is the jewel of Laos! Luang Prabang, in fact, boasts a wonderful old town, historic sites, walks along the Mekong and fabulous surroundings. In short, Luang Prabang is, in my opinion, the most beautiful place in all of Laos and, certainly, among the best in all of Southeast Asia.

Luang Prabang boasts a wonderful royal palace. It was built in 1904, then under French rule. The royals lost their power in 1975, when communism took over.
