The Arizona Science Center is one of the main attractions of downtown Phoenix. It is located at the Heritage and Science Park on Washington Street. It is also one of the most kid friendly places to go in town, as it has over three hundred hands on displays that children of all sizes will enjoy. A lot of very famous national traveling exhibits also come here.

Besides the permanent and traveling exhibits, the location also has a world class Planetarium, and a brand new five story tall IMAX theater. There are also lots of educational events that happen in this place throughout the year. So, you will want to make sure and check out the events schedule while you visit. There is even an Adults Night Out sponsored by the Science Center.

A $33 million dollar bond issue passed by the city in 1998 was used to make this a state of the art facility by anyone’s standard. It is now over 120,000 square feet on five floors. It also has more than 40,000 square feet of gallery and display place. There is something here for everyone. It is open to the general public daily from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
