Arsenals Exhibition Hall, Riga

The Arsenals Exhibition Hall, known as ARSENĀLS, is one of the largest and most prominent exhibition spaces in Riga. Located at Torņa Street 1 in Vecrīga, this hall resides in a historically significant customs warehouse or arsenal, built during the 1820s-30s in the late Russian Classicism style. The building was adapted for museum use in the late 1980s and has been an essential cultural venue since its opening in 1988.

Over the decades, ARSENĀLS has hosted many major art and cultural events, including solo exhibitions by Latvian and international artists, conceptual art displays from the museum’s collection, international exhibition projects, performances, concerts, and educational programs. The venue has attracted over one million visitors, highlighting its importance in the cultural landscape of Riga.

The ARSENĀLS building is undergoing reconstruction to renovate and preserve its nationally recognized classic architectural style. Additionally, the project will enhance the segment of Torņa Street next to the exhibition hall to improve public access and maintain accessibility for all groups.
