Art Forum East German Gallery, Regensburg

The Art Forum East German Gallery in Regensburg is an art collection specializing in works by German artists from the former eastern territories and settlement areas. It also includes pieces by artists from the German Democratic Republic (GDR) until reunification. The gallery is funded by the federal government, the Free State of Bavaria, and the city of Regensburg, and it awards the Lovis Corinth Prize. The museum is housed in historic buildings, including a former shooting range and a city gym turned exhibition space.

The museum's collection encompasses 2,000 paintings, 500 three-dimensional works, and 30,000 graphics, etchings, and drawings, covering art from around 1800 to the present day. The collection focuses on classical modernism between Impressionism and New Objectivity. It includes works by both lesser-known artists and internationally renowned figures such as Gerhard Richter, Carl Gustav Carus, Lovis Corinth, Käthe Kollwitz, Otto Müller, Adolf Hölzel, Bernard Schultze, Otto Freundlich, Ludwig Meidner, Sigmar Polke.
