Casa-Museo Perez Galdos (Perez Galdos House-Museum), Las Palmas de Gran Canaria

Situated in the heart of the historic Triana neighborhood, the Pérez Galdós House-Museum stands as a cherished tribute to one of Spain's most celebrated literary figures, Benito Pérez Galdós. This traditional house, which dates back to the 19th and early 20th centuries, served as the childhood home of the esteemed writer, who resided here until the age of 19 in 1862. While the transformation of the house into a museum necessitated certain alterations, great care has been taken to preserve its original materials and structure, reflecting the traditional Canarian domestic architecture of the era.

Stepping into the Pérez Galdós House-Museum is akin to stepping back in time, as visitors are immersed in the intimate spaces once inhabited by the renowned author. The house is built around two central patios, typical of 19th-century Canarian homes, lending it a sense of serenity and authenticity.
