Chateau d'Estoublon (Estoublon Castle), Arles

Estoublon Castle is a stunning expression of Provençal elegance and history. This sprawling 300-hectare estate has been rooted in the heart of the region since 1489, and today stands as one of the most revered sites of the Baux-de-Provence appellation, celebrated for its organic olive oil and distinguished wines.

The castle's origins trace back to the medieval period when the property, then known as “Le Grand Mas”, meaning “The Great Farm", belonged to the Lordship of Mont-Paon under the Counts of Les Baux. In 1561, it suffered destruction during the Wars of Religion, but was faithfully rebuilt in the late 17th century. The name “Estoublon Castle” was adopted in the early 18th century, marking a new chapter in its storied legacy.

For more than two decades, the estate’s vineyards on the southern slopes of the Alpilles have been cultivated organically. Its olive groves also produce oils known for their quality. Visitors can join guided tours and tastings to enjoy these exceptional products while learning about the area’s traditions in winemaking and olive oil production.

The estate features a refined gastronomic experience at La Table d’Estoublon Restaurant, where dishes are crafted from the estate’s own produce, including vegetables from its gardens, renowned olive oils, and wines. Guests can enjoy a leisurely meal al fresco, take part in a cooking class, or relax in one of the chateau’s elegantly appointed rooms or suites.
