El Paso Municipal Rose Garden, El Paso

El Paso Municipal Rose Garden, El Paso

The El Paso Municipal Rose Garden is a hidden gem awaiting discovery by locals and visitors alike. Boasting over 200 varieties of roses, this serene haven promises a vibrant display of life and color, especially as spring approaches.

Established in 1958 by the collaborative efforts of the El Paso Rose Society and the City of El Paso, the garden has flourished over the years, expanding to its current size of more than four acres. Maintained since 2007 by dedicated volunteers from the El Paso Master Gardeners, in partnership with the Texas A&M Agriculture Extension Service and the city, the garden stands as a testament to community collaboration and horticultural passion.

Visitors wandering through the garden's pathways will encounter not only traditional rose varieties but also miniature roses, native species from the Rose Family, and Earth-Kind roses developed by the Texas A&M Agriculture Program. Each year brings new additions to the garden as roses are planted and evaluated for their resilience in El Paso's unique climate.
