Galerie TIC, Brno

Galerie TIC in Brno is a central hub for contemporary cultural and artistic activities in the city. Managed by the Tourist Information Centre of Brno, this institution operates four distinct exhibition spaces in the heart of the city, each dedicated to showcasing contemporary art and fostering the local and broader art community.

The Youth Gallery (Galerie Mladých), established in 1967, is the oldest TIC gallery, showcasing emerging artists with 8-10 annual exhibitions. The Good Shepherd Gallery (Galerie U Dobrého pastýře), founded in 1992, presents up to five medium-term exhibitions each year and includes the Kabinet Gallery, which has offered eight short-term exhibitions annually since 2002. In 2017, Kabinet expanded to include space for lectures and events. The KonText Gallery, established in 2013, focuses on contemporary art with eight exhibitions yearly and collaborates with other Czech galleries.

Together, these galleries within Galerie TIC focus on presenting the latest trends and experimental works in visual art, serving as a vibrant meeting point for artists, curators, and art enthusiasts. The TIC Gallery, located on Radnická Street, has been a cornerstone of the Brno art scene since the late 1960s. In addition to its exhibition spaces, Galerie TIC is home to the Kino CIT, a club that enriches the local cultural scene, and a bookshop that offers resources for those interested in the arts. The gallery’s activities extend beyond exhibitions, fostering a dynamic cultural environment that supports the growth and interaction of Brno’s artistic community.
