For over 40 years, Galway Arts Centre has provided a year-round gallery for the city, showcasing renowned Irish and international contemporary visual arts. It is dedicated to providing year-round access to the arts in an inclusive, welcoming space.

The centre's programmes feature visual art exhibitions, events, films, music, literature, workshops, residencies, festivals, theatre, and performance, working with artists to create, challenge, and connect audiences to exceptional local, national, and international art that inspires new ideas and ways of thinking about our world.

With its exciting visual art programmes and partnerships with several Galway Festivals, such as Cúirt International Festival of Literature, TULCA Festival of Visual Art, Baboró International Arts Festival for Children, and Galway International Arts Festival, the Galway Arts Centre offers a diverse and inclusive range of activities to Galway's creative community. Education initiatives include Galway Youth Theatre, Cúirt Labs, and gallery tours and workshops for primary and post-primary schools.
