Gloriet of Marshal Marmont, Trogir

Gloriet of Marshal Marmont, Trogir

The Gloriet of Marshal Marmont is a protected cultural monument. This Gloriet stands in the Batari area, at the tip of Trogir's islet, between Kamerlengo Castle and the St. Mark’s Tower. Constructed in 1808 as a tribute to France, it was built by stonemasons. The structure sits on a square base, featuring six Doric columns that support beams, forming a hexagonal shape.

Remnants of the stone slabs from the original tented roof can still be seen alongside the beams. The elevated section is accessible via stairs on the eastern side. At the time of its construction, the Glorijet was surrounded by the sea on all sides and connected to the mainland by a bridge. It is registered with the legal status of a protected cultural monument, categorized as a "memorial building."
