HOWL Tattoo / Gallery, Fort Myers
HOWL Gallery/Tattoo in Fort Myers offers a blend of custom tattooing, contemporary art exhibitions, live music, and a craft beer and wine bar-all under one roof. Since opening in 2009, HOWL has gained a reputation as one of the cleanest and most professional tattoo shops in Southwest Florida. Its team of tattoo artists specializes in a wide range of styles, including traditional, black and grey realism, illustrative, Japanese, and dotwork. Body piercing services are also available, performed by an experienced second-generation piercer known for both precision and professionalism.
Founded by Andy Howl and Alainna Zwiernik, the gallery first opened in downtown Fort Myers and played a key role in launching the city's Art Walk and Music Walk events. In 2013, HOWL relocated to a larger 3,500-square-foot space across from the Edison Mall, expanding its offerings to include a craft beer and wine dive bar and dedicated studio space. The new location provides ample parking and space for exhibitions, tattooing, and social events.
Art shows are held on the first Saturday of every month, from 7 to 11 pm, and are free to attend. These events often feature national and emerging artists curated by co-owner Andy Howl, along with live performances by original local bands. Past exhibitors have included well-known names like Derek Hess, Seldon Hunt, and Skot Olsen, reflecting the gallery’s commitment to quality and creativity.
HOWL has earned recognition beyond Florida, with appearances in international media such as Germany’s DMAX “Tattoo Berlin,” NPR’s WGCU, and other regional press outlets. It continues to serve Fort Myers, Cape Coral, and Naples as a multifaceted destination for body art, visual arts, and alternative culture.
