Daas Gallery, Fort Myers
DAAS CO-OP Art Gallery & Gifts is a cooperative gallery located on the campus of the Alliance for the Arts in Fort Myers. Founded in April 2016 by artists David Acevedo and Xavier Brignoni, the space quickly evolved from its earlier incarnation as the David Acevedo Art Studio into a community-driven venue. As the only cooperative gallery in the area, DAAS CO-OP stands out for its collaborative model, where over 25 member artists take part in managing the gallery and curating exhibitions. This hands-on approach ensures a continually rotating selection of original works that reflect the region’s diverse creative voices.
The gallery presents a wide range of contemporary visual art, including paintings, sculpture, mixed media, and unconventional formats that highlight experimental approaches. Shows are curated by Acevedo and Brignoni, with an emphasis on bold and non-traditional works by emerging local artists. DAAS also serves as a venue for community meetings and cultural events, helping it maintain a central role in the Fort Myers arts scene. Monthly exhibitions often open with a public reception on the first Friday of each month.
Beyond visual art, the gallery features a boutique-style gift shop offering handmade jewelry, fine crafts, stationery, apparel, and other items, all produced in Southwest Florida. Shoppers can expect to find one-of-a-kind pieces made by the artists themselves, often at accessible prices. The setting fosters direct interaction between visitors and creators, adding a personal layer to the experience. The cooperative structure and consistent programming have helped DAAS CO-OP build a dedicated following among both residents and visitors.

Fort Myers Downtown Walking Tour
Fort Myers has long attracted people looking for a straightforward place to work, think, or spend time in warm weather.
