Imperial Hotel, Blackpool

Standing proudly on Blackpool’s iconic seafront, the Imperial Hotel is more than just a place to stay-it’s a piece of British seaside history. This grand Victorian landmark, built in 1867 on what was once Claremont Park, is now a Grade II listed building known for its red brick façade, elegant gold and blue detailing, and sweeping views over the Irish Sea. From the moment you step into its stately halls, you walk in the footsteps of royalty, prime ministers, and cultural icons.

Just a 15-minute stroll from Blackpool Tower, the Imperial is ideally located for exploring the town’s many attractions, from Pleasure Beach thrills to the quieter charm of the Zoo or Sea Life Centre. Inside, the hotel features 180 comfortable rooms, The Palm Court Restaurant, and the nostalgic Number 10 Bar, where walls are lined with photographs and memorabilia of famous political guests, including Winston Churchill, Queen Elizabeth II, Margaret Thatcher, and even U.S. President Bill Clinton. Charles Dickens stayed here in 1869; The Beatles dropped by the mid-20th century.

For generations, it’s been a destination for elegance and escape. Whether it’s sipping cocktails while watching the sunset, hopping on a heritage tram, or soaking up the buzz of the Promenade, the Imperial blends old-world charm with the energy of Blackpool’s best. Even the hotel’s historic Turkish baths were lovingly restored in 2023 by volunteers, adding a fresh layer to its already rich story.
