Jake's Famous Crawfish, Portland

Jake's Famous Crawfish traces its history to 1892, making it one of the oldest continuously operating restaurants in the Pacific Northwest and the second-oldest continuously operating restaurant in Portland. It began as the Mueller and Meier Saloon before Jacob “Jake” Lewis Freiman, also recorded as Frieman, became a partner around 1920. Since 1911, the restaurant has occupied the historic Whitney & Gray Building, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The restaurant is known for fresh Pacific Northwest seafood, including oysters, Dungeness crab, wild salmon, halibut, and seasonal crawfish dishes. Its historic interior features a 37 foot mahogany Brunswick bar, polished wood, custom brass details, vintage local photographs, deep booths, and a traditional oyster bar.
