Kodaly Center, Pecs

The Kodaly Centre is a cornerstone institution in Pecs, representing the pinnacle of cultural significance and serving as the premier multi-purpose concert venue and conference center in the South Transdanubian region. Erected in 2010, it houses the esteemed Pannon Philharmonic Orchestra.

Honoring the legacy of Zoltan Kodaly, the renowned Hungarian composer, musicologist, educator, and ethnomusicologist, the center bears his name. With three Kodály Prize accolades to his credit, Kodaly's influence reverberates throughout the institution. The inauguration of the building coincided with Pecs's tenure as the European Capital of Culture, underscoring its role as a cultural beacon.

Boasting superb acoustics, state-of-the-art technical solutions, and immersive spaces, Kodaly Centre provides a dynamic platform for a diverse array of performances. From classical symphonies to popular tunes, jazz melodies, and folk traditions, the stage welcomes an eclectic tapestry of artistic expressions.

The center is divided into three main parts, with a gangway winding around the central conference and concert hall, capable of accommodating up to 999 individuals. Surrounding this central hub are additional conference halls, offices, and service facilities.
