Mongolian Artists' Exhibition Hall, Ulaanbaatar

Mongolian Artists' Exhibition Hall, Ulaanbaatar

The Mongolian Artists’ Exhibition Hall is the flagship gallery space of the Union of Mongolian Artists. UMA is a venerable institution in Mongolia’s visual arts scene, founded in 1942 to promote fine arts, protect artists’ rights, and foster the creation of new art. The exhibition hall serves both as a showcase for established Mongolian artists and an important platform for emerging talent.

Typically, the hall hosts around 30 exhibitions per year, many of them recurring seasonal themes-spring, autumn, “Female Artists,” etc. Within a single year, UMA presents roughly 3,000 new works by its members, many of which can be seen here.

When you visit, expect a range of styles and media: painting, sculpture, decorative arts, traditional crafts, and experimental works. The exhibition space is not only for art display but is deeply intertwined with Mongolia’s cultural life-it gives insight into how traditional motifs, nomadic culture, and modern concerns intersect for Mongolian artists.
