Monument to Alfonsina Storni, Mar del Plata
Created by well-known artist L. Perlotti, the monument commemorates the remarkable writer Alfonsina Storni, who killed herself in October 1938. Situated in front of the La Perla Beach, the stone sculpture depicts the last days of Alfonsina, her horrible death, and directs visitors' attention to one of the most honorable persons in Latin American literature. Mar del Plata has also dedicated a song telling about Alfonsina’s life. Her oeuvre includes different interesting poems, publications and her biography.
