Monumento a los Caidos por Italia (Monument to the Fallen for Italy), Mar del Plata
Located in the Capitoline Square, on the 11 de Septiembre Avenue, the statue depicts the wolf nursing Romulus and Remus. Placed in 1958, the monument is dedicated to the Italian heroes fallen in the Second World War. Designed by Vincent Albanese, the statue includes three columns which represent heaven, earth and sea. It also contains a Gothic turret on which the wolf stands. The monument was donated by an Italian organization and is cared for by the government.
