Monument to Juan Bautista Alberdi, Mar del Plata

Situated in front of Alberdi and Corrientes Avenue, this monument is dedicated to an Argentine diplomat who was one of the most remarkable liberals during his time. Born in 1810, J. Alberdi wrote the constitution for Argentina and several books describing the federal regime. Many years ago the government neglected the monument, but nowadays the statue is protected by the two hotels located close to it, and it is considered a landmark for Mar del Plata.
