Monument to Sadriddin Aini and Maxim Gorky, Dushanbe

The Monument to Sadriddin Aini and Maxim Gorky stands beside the House of the Union of Writers of Tajikistan. The figures are rendered in realistic detail, with attention to facial features and clothing typical of the early twentieth century.

Nearby decorative panels display a group of Eastern poets and thinkers, led by Omar Khayyam. These reliefs connect the monument to a longer literary tradition that predates the Soviet era.
