Mount Paran Church of God, Atlanta

The history of Mount Paran Church of God can be traced back to the early 20th century, when a group of Christians began meeting in the home of a woman named Lula Belle Dempsey in the Buckhead area of Atlanta. In 1917, they officially established a church, which is now one of the largest in the United States, with over 13,000 members.

The church is rather unique in terms of its architecture, featuring a contemporary, angular design with a soaring, 100-foot-high glass-walled atrium that floods the space with natural light. The building is made of steel, glass, and stone and is designed to blend in with the surrounding landscape. The sanctuary seats up to 1,800 people and features a state-of-the-art audio and video system. The building also includes classrooms, offices, and meeting spaces.
