Since opening as the Kirkpatrick Planetarium in 1958, Science Museum Oklahoma has steadily transformed into one of the nation’s largest and most engaging science museums. Over the years, it has expanded to include a wide range of interactive exhibits, from air and space galleries to science labs, outdoor gardens, and the state-of-the-art OmniDome theater.

Among the museum’s highlights are the upgraded Love’s Planetarium, the hands-on Tinkering Garage, the inventive CurioCity and KidSpace play areas for younger guests, and the dynamic smART Space galleries. The Science Floor is filled with interactive setups exploring topics such as electricity, motion, and basic chemistry.

Visitors can try walking a tightrope, ride a Segway, or experience a simulated tornado. In addition, the International Gymnastics Hall of Fame presents real equipment, medals, and artifacts that celebrate Olympic achievements, while the museum’s affiliation with the Smithsonian brings nationally significant collections to local audiences.
