Parque Rehilete Alcalde (Rehilete Alcalde Park), Guadalajara

The Rehilete Alcalde Park is a beloved urban oasis that has enchanted locals and visitors since its inauguration on December 30, 1961. Spanning over eight hectares of gentle hillside terrain, the park offers a refreshing escape with lush gardens, verdant lawns, native trees, and abundant birdlife-it stands as one of the city's most cherished "green lungs" .

A signature attraction here is The Monumental Fountain, inspired by the 16th-century fountains of Villa d’Este in Italy. This cascading marvel drops across five levels and stretches nearly 80 metres wide, creating a water feature that frames an artificial lake. Wander across its bridges, admire the scenic floral clock, or even rent a pedal boat or rowboat to glide across the shimmering waters. The lake features two islands, one of which is home to a charming playground designed especially for children.

Beyond passive relaxation, the park buzzes with activities. An electric mini-train mimics a vintage 1860 locomotive, offering charming rides around the grounds, while thrill-seekers can enjoy a mini rollercoaster and traditional amusement rides. Sports and wellness enthusiasts will appreciate the outdoor gym, skating park, jogging paths, and convenient bike parking .
