Playa El Revolcadero (Revolcadero Beach), Acapulco

Playa El Revolcadero (Revolcadero Beach), Acapulco

Revolcadero Beach—often simply called Revolcadero—is a sweeping stretch of coastline just south of Acapulco. Because it faces the open Pacific rather than a sheltered bay, the waves here grow stronger and more adventurous—ideal for experienced swimmers, surfers, and bodyboarders, though novices should stay near the shore. The sand itself has a darker, smokey hue—its tone influenced by proximity to the Tres Palos Lagoon to the east.

During daylight hours, the scene at Revolcadero blends laid-back beach life with activity. Guests at nearby resorts and hotels—such as Princess Mundo Imperial—spill down to the sand, and local vendors may offer snacks, cocktails, or beach gear. Many visitors come for surf sessions, while others simply enjoy strolling, sunbathing, or watching the waves roll in. Some operators also run horseback rides along the beach fronts.
