In 1972, Dr. Walter Leibrecht, founder of Schiller International University, restored the castle, making it a hub for global students and hosting European Parliament sessions. The site includes meeting areas, a wellness center, and more.

Beyond the impressive castle, the sprawling 24-hectare park holds a variety of captivating features. A garden bridge, house, farm, and intricate garden fence cater to horticulture and architectural enthusiasts. Greenhouse, conciergerie, dovecote, serene fountain, meandering alleys, and stately gateways all embody its historical essence. Two ancient ponds enhance the sense of serenity.

Pourtalès Park spans 25 hectares, surrounding the castle with natural beauty and cultural significance. Its charm goes beyond landscapes, intertwining with history. The park features contemporary art, adding an avant-garde touch to its enchanting landscape. With forest-like paths and well-kept lawns, visitors can stroll or bike, and lush areas offer serene lunch spots.
