Sao Paulo Stock Exchange, Sao Paulo

Sao Paulo Stock Exchange, Sao Paulo

On September 27, 2006, the São Paulo Stock Exchange (Bovespa) introduced a new public space for visitation. The area that previously housed the traditional open-outcry trading floor has undergone a complete renovation and now forms part of the tourist circuit in São Paulo's Historic Center. Visitors to this site can gain insight into the workings of the exchange from former traders, explore the history of the Brazilian capital market, and view museum artifacts, including a cordless telephone from the 1980s.

Transformed into a cutting-edge investor school, the spacious lobby now boasts state-of-the-art electronic panels and a circular room with a 3D cinema, accommodating up to 40 people. Here, a 20-minute film provides an immersive experience. Visitors can also attend lectures on the capital market and engage in simulated trading activities. The aim is to enhance visitors' understanding of the world of stocks and shares, catering to both tourists and students.

Bovespa has a rich history spanning over a century, serving as one of the prominent symbols of Brazilian capitalism. As the largest stock trading center in Latin America, it has played a pivotal role in the nation's economic development.
