Science Centre Singapore, Singapore

Science Centre Singapore, Singapore

The Science Centre Singapore (SCS) is an institution dedicated to promoting scientific and technological education for the general public. It boasts an impressive collection of over 850 exhibits spanning eight exhibition galleries, drawing in more than a million visitors annually. Notably, by the year 2003, when it marked its silver jubilee, it had welcomed over 25 million visitors.

Situated adjacent to the equator, the SCS Observatory stands out as one of the few observatories worldwide with such a location. This unique positioning allows it to observe constellations in both the northern and southern celestial hemispheres, providing a broader celestial perspective for astronomers and enthusiasts.

Since June 2006, the Observatory has been offering the public the opportunity for stargazing sessions every Friday night. These sessions run from 7:50 pm to 10:00 pm and can accommodate up to 50 visitors comfortably. It's important to keep in mind that stargazing through the observatory telescope is contingent upon clear skies. However, regardless of weather conditions, the observatory staff will be on hand to assist and provide information.

Why You Should Visit:
From atomic models, fibre optics, mirror maze, physics & chemistry-based themes to water park, kinetic garden, there is much for kids to see, do and learn.
The Omni-Theatre is a unique experience as it provides a really wide screen (not just left and right, but also above your head) to keep your peripheral vision engaged.

Tip:
If you're interested to learn, reach there as early as possible.
You don't have many options to rest, so be prepared to walk a lot.
