Tekke Park, Larnaca

Tekke Park in Larnaca offers a calm, green space on the way to one of Cyprus’s notable landmarks - the Hala Sultan Tekke Mosque. Located near the city’s waterfront, the park serves as a quiet break from the lively promenade and the surrounding urban area. With its tall palm trees, eucalyptus groves, and shaded pathways, it attracts both locals and tourists looking for a brief walk or a peaceful place to sit. Benches, open lawns, and patches of flowering shrubs make it an easy place to linger.

From the park, visitors enjoy clear views across the Larnaca Salt Lake, especially toward the Hala Sultan Tekke Mosque, which stands out with its distinctive profile. The park naturally guides foot traffic in that direction, functioning as a transitional space between the city and the mosque. As the seasons change, the landscape subtly shifts, with spring and autumn bringing added colour and activity from birds and pollinators.

At the park’s centre is a small pond surrounded by low stone borders and framed by a mix of native and decorative plants. This simple water feature reflects the sky and draws birds to its edge, making it a quiet stop for those carrying a book or camera.
