The Exaltation of the Holy Cross Church (Крестовоздвиженская Церковь), Irkutsk (must see)

The Exaltation of the Holy Cross Church took 11 years to build. The church is surrounded by an elegant fence and is decorated in the Baroque style. The Imperial Archaeological Commission has designated the church a national historic monument. Inside the church there are three iconostases. Of the 650 icons in the church, 400 of them are recognized as having great artistic value. Most of them were made in the 18th century, although there are some that were made in the 17th century.
