The West End Gallery, Edmonton

The West End Gallery, Edmonton

Established in 1975, the West End Gallery is one of Canada’s oldest and most respected commercial art galleries, proudly celebrating Canadian artistic excellence for nearly five decades. Founded by Dan and Lana Hudon in the original West End of Edmonton at 156 Street and 95th Avenue, the gallery later moved to the dynamic 124th Street area, now known as the Gallery Walk District.

From the beginning, West End Gallery has stood as a cornerstone of Western Canada’s art scene, championing the work of contemporary Canadian artists. The gallery’s thoughtfully curated collection spans a range of styles-from photorealism to abstract, and from figurative to landscape and still life. It also includes a strong representation of exceptional glass artists, reflecting the gallery’s dedication to showcasing diverse media and techniques.

Today, the gallery is helmed by second-generation owners Matthew and Jennifer Hudon, who continue the family legacy with the same passion and dedication. Matthew, who joined full-time in 2005, brings fresh vision while preserving the gallery’s foundational values. His children now represent the third generation, frequently seen exploring the gallery after school-underscoring that West End Gallery is not just a business, but a living family tradition.

Beyond exhibitions, the gallery offers personalized services including private viewings, art consultations, and worldwide shipping, making it a trusted partner for collectors locally and internationally. Visitors are welcome Tuesday through Saturday to explore its ever-evolving displays or can browse curated selections online anytime.

With a legacy built on integrity, care, and a deep love for Canadian art, West End Gallery continues to be a beacon for artists, collectors, and enthusiasts alike.
