Wild Waterworks, Hamilton
Wild Waterworks opened in 1983 and operates as a seasonal outdoor waterpark within a larger lakeside recreation setting. While the broader parkland spans 93 hectares along Lake Ontario, the waterpark itself occupies a smaller section of that space. It was developed to combine major water attractions with access to open green areas and the waterfront nearby.
The main attraction is one of Canada’s largest outdoor wave pools, generating swells at regular intervals. Tube slides such as Night Rider, Blue Demon, Vertigo, and Sidewinder feature enclosed turns, while Corkscrew and Kamikaze body slides offer a faster descent. The Eazy River moves at a relaxed pace, and Little Squirt Works provides shallow splash areas for children. Go-karts and mini golf are available nearby in the surrounding park.
The waterpark operates within Confederation Beach Park, a public lakeside park managed by the City of Hamilton and the Hamilton Conservation Authority. The park includes lawns, picnic areas, sports fields, and a shoreline path. The nearby Lakeland Centre offers a pool and splash pad. Entry to the beach park is free, while the waterpark requires paid admission.
