From Nuremberg we headed to Augsburg by first stopping at Donauworth. To move around Bavaria I recommend you the "Bayern Ticket". It's a ticket that costs € 25 + € 7 extra per person, up to 5 people maximum. Children travel for free. This ticket allows you to travel unlimitedly on all Bavarian regional trains for one day (weekdays from 9 am and on weekends and holidays from 00 am). Here you have more information.

The journey from Nuremberg to Augsburg takes between one and two hours, depending on the train you take. Donauwörth is just 20 minutes from Augsburg, so we decided to stop there first and take a walk to get to know this town that is within the famous German romantic route. It is located on the Danube River and is called the "Pearl of the Bavarian Danube." It is a beautiful town, but it is also totally expendable if it isn't on your way. ......
