Puerto Princesa City Familiarization Tour, Puerto Princesa, Philippines (B)

When I was recently searching for inspirational quotes about travel, I found two lines that perfectly encapsulate how I am as a traveler. One is by Robert Louis Stevenson, a Scottish essayist, novelist and poet, which goes, “For my part, I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. I travel for travel’s sake. The great affair is to move.” The other is by English stage and cinema actor Sir Richard Burton who said that “The gladdest moment in human life, me thinks, is a departure into unknown lands.”

I am not a savvy traveler and I am not good in making itineraries. I do not know how to book a plane ticket, and I often miss out on some details of our outings. My wife takes care of most of the arrangements while my camera and trusted phone help me with documentation. I travel for the sake of wandering; I draw happiness out of being in motion.

I have not been to places previously unexplored although my long-term goal is to be able to do that. I go to places that are popular and where everybody has been.
