Sayulita – Eating, Surfing and Chillin, Sayulita, Mexico (B)

Sayulita is a small surf town on the west coast of Mexico. It is situated in the state of Nayarit and is close to the larger towns of Puerto Vallarta and Guadalajara. The best way to reach it is to fly to Puerto Vallarta and take a taxi, shared van or bus. It takes around 1 hour from Puerto Vallarta to Sayulita. Alternatively, you can also fly to Guadalajara and take a bus from there to Sayulita which will take you around 3 hours or so. 

Sayulita is a very relaxed and chilled town and definitely more quite than its larger neighbor of Puerto Vallarta. Although the once sleepy fishing village has become a lot more busy due to the influx of foreign tourists (especially US Americans) it still managed to keep its surf n’ turf vibe. Picturesque beaches, charming shops and restaurants and great food make this town an amazing vacation getaway. 

Sayulita beach is quite big and is known to be a great spot for learning how to surf. Waves are not that high and a bit choppy for swimming but still good enough to enjoy a nice dip in the ocean. Some spots get quite busy with sufers but there is enough space to find a quite area to enjoy the chilled beach vibes and take a sun bath.  ......
