Around 57 bridges connect 14 islands on Stockholm’s extensive archipelago. Walking or cycling is the best way to take in the city’s sights.

You can take one of the many sightseeing boats or ferries that constantly shuttle passengers between petite islands, if you prefer not to walk.

With so many tiny islets, each with unique sights, you can easily spend more than one day in Stockholm to absorb the city. But what else is there to see in Stockholm, aside from Gamla Stan (Old Town)?

On the small islet of Riddarholmen (close to the Royal Palace), the majestic Riddarholmen Church is the final resting place of Sweden’s kings.
