111 Minna, San Francisco

111 Minna, San Francisco

111 Minna Gallery, established in 1993 in downtown San Francisco, is a vibrant hub for art and leisure. This 4,000 square feet space hosts local and international artists, DJs, live performances, and film screenings. With rotating events, the gallery offers a diverse range of experiences to visitors and locals.

The architectural design of the gallery is a tribute to the urban industrial aesthetic, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of a warehouse. The 16-foot-high walls, adorned with exposed piping overhead, create a dramatic effect, while the floor-to-ceiling windows facing out on 2nd Street allow natural light to illuminate the space and offer a glimpse into the vibrant city surroundings.

The original hardwood floors add a touch of warmth and character to the gallery, harmonizing with the overall design. Adding to the visual allure is a striking 25-foot-long rolled steel and copper bar, a remarkable creation by Bay Area sculptor Jud Bergeron. This centerpiece not only serves as a functional space for refreshments but also stands as a captivating work of art in itself.

To enhance the ambiance, Impact Lighting's multifunctional theatrical lighting by Terry Ohm is used. It adds depth and versatility to the gallery, creating various moods for each event. The Gallery's furnishings combine modern and antique elements, adding sophistication and charm. The curated furniture complements the contemporary design, creating a visually appealing environment for visitors.
