Avaz Twist Tower, Sarajevo

Avaz Twist Tower, Sarajevo

Nestled in the very heart of Sarajevo, the Avaz Twist Tower is an architectural marvel that beautifully blends modern design with panoramic vistas. Rising 142 meters to the rooftop and extending to a spire height of approximately 172 meters, it proudly holds the title of the tallest building in Bosnia and Herzegovina - and indeed, Southeastern Europe outside of Istanbul. Its captivating spiral glass façade, twisting gradually across its 38 upper floors, is a striking example of neo‑futuristic architecture and earned it distinction as one of the ten most beautiful buildings in the world in 2009.

Constructed between 2006 and 2008 and officially opened in 2009, the tower serves as the headquarters of Dnevni Avaz, one of Bosnia’s leading daily newspapers. As you step inside, you’ll be greeted by sleek interiors and contemporary design aesthetics that welcome both business professionals and curious travelers alike. The building houses multiple high-speed panoramic elevators that whisk visitors up to the top floors in style and comfort.

Tourists shouldn’t miss the public-access observation deck on the 36th floor, where the sweeping 360° views of Sarajevo’s cityscape and surrounding hills make for unforgettable photo opportunities. Guests can also relax at the café on the 35th floor and enjoy refreshments with a side of scenery. Whether you arrive during the golden hour of sunset or under the glittering city lights at night, the views from the terrace are truly spectacular.

Venture beyond the tower, and you’ll find yourself in the bustling Marijin Dvor district - a hub of business, public transport, and nearby attractions. Positioned just minutes from Sarajevo City Center, museums, and charming historic neighborhoods, Avaz Twist Tower is an excellent starting point for exploring the city’s blend of Ottoman legacy and contemporary spirit.
