Bar La Goleta, Seville
Bar La Goleta, also known as Taberna Álvaro Peregil, is a small traditional tavern known for its Andalusian wines and tapas. Its roots date to 1904, when the premises began as a shop selling wines from Huelva. The interior remains compact and informal, with a wooden bar, old signs, bottles and other details that preserve the atmosphere of an older neighborhood wine tavern.
The house specialty is vino de naranja, a sweet fortified wine flavored with orange peel and closely connected with the Peregil family. The tavern is run by Álvaro Peregil, son of the well-known flamenco singer and tavern keeper Pepe Peregil. The family has long been associated with serving orange wine brought from Huelva, alongside manzanilla and other southern Spanish wines.
Food follows the style of a traditional tapas bar, with small portions and montaditos designed to accompany a drink. Typical choices include pringá, cured meats, cheeses, salmorejo and other Andalusian dishes. Space inside is limited, and customers often stand at the bar or use the few outdoor tables, creating the lively, close-packed atmosphere typical of long-established local taverns.
