Blue Reef Aquarium, Bristol (must see)

Blue Reef Aquarium is a popular national chain of public aquariums in England that was established in January 2000 and is owned by Aspro Parks. One of the branches of this chain is located in Bristol and was opened in November 2009. The aquarium is situated in the We the Curious Science complex, occupying the former Wildwalk and IMAX Cinema buildings.

The Bristol Blue Reef Aquarium is home to more than 40 living displays, showcasing a wide variety of marine life from tropical sharks and lobsters to seahorses and tropical fish. The aquarium's centerpiece is a large ocean tank, where visitors can enjoy close encounters with tropical coral reef fish as they walk through an underwater tunnel. Visitors can also explore other displays featuring octopuses, puffer fish, electric eels, tropical sharks, terrapins, and giant Amazon River fish.

One unique feature of the Bristol Blue Reef Aquarium is its giant botanical house, which is the only one of its kind in the UK. This botanical house is home to hundreds of species of plants and flowers from around the world, providing a unique and immersive experience for visitors.

The venue was later renamed the Bristol Aquarium, and it continues to be a popular destination for visitors to Bristol and beyond. With its diverse range of marine life, unique botanical house, and immersive displays, the Bristol Aquarium is a must-visit attraction for anyone interested in the wonders of the sea.
