Church of Our Lady of the Resurrection, Versailles
The Church of Our Lady of the Resurrection is a modern Roman Catholic parish church constructed in the late 1960s as part of the large residential and commercial development known as Parly 2. The building was designed by architect Claude Balick, opening for worship in 1970. For visitors today, the Church of Our Lady of the Resurrection serves an active community of worshippers.
Architecturally, the church has a modern style typical of post-war parish churches in the Île-de-France region. Its layout is based on a nearly circular or radial plan to promote visibility and participation by all in the congregation. The exterior uses materials and coloration that reflect modern aesthetic trends of the era, combining green and white tones.
Inside, stained-glass windows are among its notable artistic features. The glasswork was created by master glazier Léon Blanchet. These windows allow light to enter the sacred space in a way that complements the clean lines and open plan of the sanctuary, offering a gentle brightness consistent with the church’s overall design.
