Arts For ACT, Fort Myers

Arts for ACT Gallery, located in the historic downtown River District of Fort Myers, is the city’s longest-running visual arts gallery, operating since 2002. Housed in the front of the historic Arcade Building, the gallery spans 2,100 square feet, with tall ceilings, distressed brick walls, and wooden floors that recall the ambiance of SoHo-style spaces. The layout is divided into smaller exhibition areas, each offering a different atmosphere, allowing for a diverse viewing experience.

This non-profit, volunteer-supported gallery represents the work of over 50 local artists and rotates a featured exhibit each month. Visitors will find a wide range of original artwork, including prints, giclées, jewelry, clay pieces, glass art, upcycled fashion, and mixed media. The gallery’s selection changes frequently, maintaining a dynamic, ever-evolving environment. Staffing is managed by curator Claudia Goode alongside more than 35 artist volunteers.

Arts for ACT Gallery is operated by Abuse Counseling and Treatment, Inc., an organization that provides services to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking in Lee, Hendry, and Glades counties. Proceeds from the gallery directly support this mission, giving each purchase a charitable impact.

Monthly public events such as the Fort Myers Art Walk (first Fridays) and Music Walk (third Fridays) offer opportunities to meet the artists and engage with the work in a relaxed setting. These receptions run from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., often accompanied by wine and conversation, making the gallery both a cultural and community touchpoint.
