Galería Isabel Aninat, Santiago

Isabel Aninat Gallery is a contemporary art gallery based in Chile, was founded by Isabel Aninat, a Philosophy and Aesthetics graduate. Established in 1982 during the Pinochet dictatorship, the gallery was conceived as a platform to foster discussions, critical reflections, and commercialization of contemporary art and new media in Santiago de Chile.

The gallery represents both established and emerging artists whose conceptual practices focus on exploring socially, politically, and ethically relevant issues. Through its annual program, Aninat Galería endeavors to rediscover and appreciate the contributions of lesser-known historical artists who have reshaped artistic paradigms. Currently, the gallery is under the direction of Javiera García-Huidobro and Isabel Aninat.

The gallery premises comprise three exhibition spaces: the Main Room serves as a flexible space for artists to present their works; the Cabinet, designed to showcase documents, unrealized projects, and artists' references, aims to establish a connection between the viewer and the artist's creative processes; and the Unique Piece is dedicated to the development of single works or specific projects, offering a collaborative space for experimentation with artists, galleries, curators, and institutions.

Isabel Aninat Gallery transcends boundaries by fostering strong connections with international galleries, curators, institutions, and collectors. The gallery has a rich history of participation in international fairs, through which it has successfully acquired significant artworks from the artists it represents.
