Galeria Manos, Havana

Galeria Manos, Havana

Galeria Manos, nestled in the heart of Old Havana on the bustling Obispo Street, stands as a vibrant showcase of Cuban popular art, offering visitors a unique glimpse into the rich tapestry of the country's artistic heritage. This gallery is not just a space but a cultural beacon that brings together a diverse range of works by Cuban plastic artists, embodying the spirit and creativity of Cuba's artistic community.

Currently, the Manos Gallery is hosting an exhibition that captivates the imagination and draws in viewers with its compelling display. The exhibition is a collective endeavor featuring thirty distinguished artists from across Cuba, who have drawn inspiration from the iconic landmarks, traditions, and characters of Havana. Their works offer a narrative that is both personal and universal, highlighting the deep connection between the artists and their city.

A noteworthy aspect of this exhibition is the emphasis on the papier-mache technique, a testament to the skill and creativity of Cuban artisan artists. Ninety artisans in Havana specialize in this art form, creating intricate and beautiful pieces that reflect the vibrancy and dynamism of Cuban culture. Thirty of these talented individuals have contributed to the current group exhibition at Galeria Manos, further enriching the gallery's offering with their unique perspectives and skills.
