Gallery Fold, Reykjavik

Gallery Fold, Reykjavik

Gallerí Fold stands as Iceland's leading auction house and prominent fine arts dealership. It was established in 1990 and has remained under the ownership of its current proprietor since 1992. In 1994, the gallery acquired its location on Raudarárstígur, which has been instrumental in its growth and success.

The building spans 600 square meters and comprises five exhibition spaces ranging from 30 to 110 square meters. Gallerí Fold represents the works of more than 60 of Iceland's most renowned artists and also facilitates the resale of artworks on behalf of individuals and companies, both through direct sales and auctions. Their collection boasts a diverse range of high-quality art pieces.

Gallerí Fold conducts monthly fine art auctions, with a brief hiatus during the summer season. Each auction features up to a hundred items available for bidding. Interested buyers have the option to bid on works exclusively available online or submit bids for pieces scheduled for larger auctions.

Furthermore, Gallerí Fold offers valuation services for artworks, catering to individuals, companies, insurance firms, and institutions. Their valuations draw upon their deep understanding of the Icelandic art market and current pricing trends, informed by data from past art auctions in Iceland.

In their commitment to providing top-notch services to their clients, Gallerí Fold established a framing workshop in 2001, equipped with state-of-the-art tools and expertise to frame artwork for both artists and customers.
