Heydar Aliyev Monument, Baku
The Heydar Aliyev Monument is a prominent brass statue dedicated to the former Azerbaijani President Heydar Aliyev. Situated in the Heydar Aliyev Square, opposite the opera house in Baku, this statue stands as a tribute to a significant figure in the nation's recent history. Erected in 2005, the monument features a five-meter tall bronze statue of Heydar Aliyev, mounted on a six-meter marble base.
The statue is prominently placed in front of a palace that also bears his name. Surrounding the monument are three fountains, adding to the grandeur of the site. Heydar Aliyev, who lived from 1923 to 2003, was a distinguished political and state figure, playing a pivotal role in shaping Azerbaijan’s history in the latter half of the 20th century.
